The Hamilton County Health Department is a tobacco and nicotine free campus.
The Hamilton County Health Department prohibits the hiring of individuals who use tobacco or nicotine products in any form.
All individuals who are offered a position with the Health Department are screened for tobacco or nicotine use as part of the post-offer health screening.
Individuals whose post-offer health screening results are verified positive for tobacco or nicotine use will be disqualified from employment, their job offers will be withdrawn, and they will be disqualified from employment with the Hamilton County Health Department for one (1) year from the date of the post-offer health screening.
When this position is located directly within the Federal Homeless Health Clinic, applicants for hire must meet the Federal COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate requirements and be fully vaccinated or be deemed eligible for a medical or a religious exemption.
Additionally, there are a number of other positions within the Hamilton County Health Department that provide operational services/support to the Federal Homeless Health Clinic.
Based on Federal Guidelines, applicants for those positions must also meet the Federal COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate requirements and be fully vaccinated or be deemed eligible for a medical or a religious exemption.

The Hamilton County Health Department has a responsibility to respond quickly and efficiently when public health emergencies occur.
All Hamilton County Health Department employees are responsible for ensuring their contact information is current and they are accessible should a public health emergency arise.
The Hamilton County Health Department maintains a call down system to store contact information and mobilize staff in the event of an emergency.
During a public health emergency, all staff are required to respond should a call to mobilize be made.
During a public health emergency, work hours for any and all Hamilton County Health Department employees are subject to modification to meet the needs of the community.
THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION.
Under direct supervision and in accordance with County standard operating procedures and security policies, the microcomputer specialist deploys personal computer (PC) hardware, software, and peripherals in a network environment; installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs County PCs and peripherals; and provides continuing onsite and telephone support to users.

) Tasks Responsibilities include hands-on technical involvement in all phases of PC and peripheral life-cycle support, from deployment to retirement.
Install, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain PC hardware, software, and peripherals.
Assist with Help Desk phone coverage and travel offsite to provide our users with basic and intermediate technical support for use of authorized hardware, operating systems, and software.
Assist users with basic security concepts and best practices, as well as basic file sharing, permissions, and password maintenance.
Assist with security maintenance and remediation through the use of authorized anti-malware and security software.
Use authorized systems to maintain detailed and accurate records of hardware and software inventory, and technical work done.
Collaborate with Systems and Networking staff to obtain intermediate and advanced technical support for users.
Continue professional development using County provided educational resources Assists managers with microcomputer purchases requests for hardware, software and services; purchases replacement parts.
Maintains operational knowledge of Health Department's mini-mainframe, electronic health record, servers and building infrastructure.
Responsible for emergency preparedness activities related to technology including computers, radios and satellite phone.
Assures connections for video conferences; provides technical support for meetings and workshops.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Knowledge of federal, state and county laws, rules, regulations, practices and procedures related to information technology.
Knowledge of information technology hardware and software implementation and maintenance best practices.
Knowledge of information technology security methods and best practices.
Knowledge of technical PC operating system concepts, primarily on Microsoft Windows platforms.
Knowledge of technical PC hardware and peripheral installation, maintenance, and repair.
Knowledge of basic networking concepts and troubleshooting methods.
Knowledge of basic security and permissions management using a network directory infrastructure, primarily Microsoft Active Directory.
Knowledge of productivity software and groupware concepts and use.
Knowledge of basic help desk and technical support concepts and methods.
Knowledge of basic customer service and public relations practices.
Skill evaluating and planning the deployment of technology to meet user needs.
Skill analyzing customer/client needs.
Skill monitoring and troubleshooting microcomputer systems and related peripherals.
Skill providing technical support and training to end users.
Skill utilizing verbal and written communication to train and support end users in problem resolution.
Skill utilizing customer service/public relations techniques when responding to inquiries and complaints.
Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Skill effectively communicating in both oral and written form.
Minimum Qualifications The equivalent of an Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science plus three (3) years of related work experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Testing and certification may be required to demonstrate minimum knowledge, skill, and ability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires long periods of attention to detail, extensive computer keyboarding, and occasional lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping or crawling to install, maintain, repair, or connect personal computers and related peripherals weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; ability to drive an automobile.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
