8 Full-time 3 hours ago Full Job Description Description THIS POSITION REQUIRES APPLICANTS TO BE TOBACCO AND NICOTINE FREE The Hamilton County Health Department is a tobacco and nicotine free campus.
The Hamilton County Health Department prohibits the hiring of individuals who use tobacco or nicotine products in any form.
All individuals who are offered a position with the Health Department are screened for tobacco or nicotine use as part of the post-offer health screening.
Individuals whose post-offer health screening results are verified positive for tobacco or nicotine use will be disqualified from employment, their job offers will be withdrawn, and they will be disqualified from employment with the Hamilton County Health Department for one (1) year from the date of the post-offer health screening.
When this position is located directly within the Federal Homeless Health Clinic, applicants for hire must meet the Federal COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate requirements and be fully vaccinated or be deemed eligible for a medical or a religious exemption.
Additionally, there are a number of other positions within the Hamilton County Health Department that provide operational services/support to the Federal Homeless Health Clinic.
Based on Federal Guidelines, applicants for those positions must also meet the Federal COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate requirements and be fully vaccinated or be deemed eligible for a medical or a religious exemption.

The Hamilton County Health Department has a responsibility to respond quickly and efficiently when public health emergencies occur.
All Hamilton County Health Department employees are responsible for ensuring their contact information is current and they are accessible should a public health emergency arise.
The Hamilton County Health Department maintains a call down system to store contact information and mobilize staff in the event of an emergency.
During a public health emergency, all staff are required to respond should a call to mobilize be made.
During a public health emergency, work hours for any and all Hamilton County Health Department employees are subject to modification to meet the needs of the community.
Under general supervision, certifies eligibility and provides nutritional education and counseling to participants of the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and Community Nutrition Program with emphasis on good nutrition and healthy eating habits in order to improve or maintain overall health.
Essential Functions:

) Tasks Determines eligibility to participate in WIC program; determines nutritional reason for women, infant or child to participate in program; documents information in patient records including diet recalls, patient assessment, nutrition care plan, and follow up for next visit; explains to patients what qualifies them to participate in the program; utilizes computer data base for establishing appointments, documentation and record keeping when responding to telephone inquiries from participants or general public.
Counsels Community Nutrition Program clients in accordance with the prescribed Nutritional Therapy program; calls to remind patients of appointments; prepares and provides nutritional counseling based on individual needs of patient; prepares and presents group presentations on nutrition and food management; prepares teaching materials, audio visual aids, and informational handouts; attends in-services training, staff meetings and workshops for professional development; performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Knowledge of federal, state and county laws, rules, regulations and guidelines related to the provision of WIC services.
Knowledge of the nutritional needs of WIC participants.
Knowledge of computer hardware, software and peripherals.
Knowledge of intake assessment methods and procedures.
Knowledge of educational/instruction methods best suited to population served.
Skill assessing patients for nutritional eligibility.
Skill developing, implementing, and motivating patients regarding nutritional needs.
Skill instructing and educating low income high risk individuals on personal or family nutritional needs.
Skill accurately documenting and maintaining patient records.
Skill utilizing computerized database systems for tracking and record keeping, Skill establishing rapport with low income high risk populations.
Skill establishing and maintaining effecting working relationships.
Skill effectively communicating in both oral and written form.
Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and a valid driver's license.
OR A Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or a closely related field and a minimum of twelve (12) credits in nutrition related courses.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Bilingual - fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires a high volume of case load work and meeting stringent timelines.
Work requires limited physical effort primarily involves sitting and typing for extended periods of time.
Minimal standing, walking, and lifting.
May deliver presentations for group classes.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
